That sucks the big one. Had made two claims with them in 40 years without any problems
I had one claim with state farm, they canceled me after 15 years. State farm, never again for me.

Coverage shouldn’t be in question at this point after mitigation had been to the home and performed services directed by the carrier.

It was a pretty good stream coming out not a slow drip. I think it happened on a Friday while we were at work, we drove out of town for the weekend without going home, came home Sunday afternoon to a wet rug in the dining room then noticing water coming up in the cracks of the wood floors.
This afternoon the cabinet guy said they would repair the cabinets not replace. What he said they would probably offer wouldn’t even cover what it would cost to paint them. We were told by the original adjuster and ServiceMaster a month ago that the cabinets needed to be replaced. It seems like they’re trying to repair them so they don’t have to match the cabinets up top

He's my agent as well. I got off the phone with his office like 5 mins ago. Was looking at moving our auto insurance since my daughter is about to start driving.
call him and see if he can help get another adjuster assigned.

How did the cabinet guy get sent to your home? Did you call him or someone else?

State Farm sent him from a construction company I'm not using. My wife met with him, I called him after she told me what he said. I asked him if SF told him to limit it to repair, he of course said no. I got the impression talking to him beforehand, as did my wife when he got there, that he knew what he was going to say before he ever even walked in and knew what the reaction was going to be.

What is the cabinet material? Plywood? The issue is not the cabinets you can see, it is the backside of the cabinets, it is the drywall that was touching the cabinets, it might be the insulation behind the drywall. Something was soaked that caused elevated moisture for 8+ days that fans and dehumidifiers could not reach to dry out.

I would ask him if he was provided the moisture history of the claim by SF. If he says no, then I would tell him the moisture history and ask if that changes his repair/replacement determination.

I wasn't there, but my wife did mention that it had been 5 weeks and ServiceMaster has been trying to rip the cabinets out for 4 weeks but couldn't get in touch with SF. He just said "we'll get them ripped out", she told him she sure as shite hopes there isn't any mold our little boys are breathing in. I doubt they gave him any of the reports from SM, I'm not sure they even had them until I uploaded them to the claims website Tuesday because the meth head adjuster apparently did nothing with anything he had been sent since 1/23/20

I'm second generation with him like your daughter would be; been with him since I was 16 (I'm 37) for auto and had this home with him for 10 years ever since I moved back from FL
I got him involved Tuesday. I even went up to the regional manager for SF agents. He said it was one of the more poorly handled claims he had seen in a while and got it sent up to corporate in Bloomington.
Just got a call and email from the adjuster supervisor; it looks like they are going to bend the knee

-ServiceMaster had 13 fans and 2 dehumidifiers on it for 8 days, when they took the fans away they were still detecting what they said was significant water levels in the walls and floor
these guys smelled blood in the water

Sadly, we do have some crappy adjusters. Gladly, we do have some management people who realize that and will make it right. Sorry we didn’t get you taken care of quicker. This adjuster will be dealt with.

If you work at SF and are in the area, my agent Chip Hunter really went to bat for me. When I was 22 and our dad died, he dropped by to check on my sister and me. He didn’t really have anything to gain by that besides us keeping auto with him, that’s why I’ve been with him so long and never shop it. He’s a good man

Just in conversation, the next time you talk to the adjuster, detail just some of the times they dropped the ball and use the term arbitrary and capricious, its the one term that insurance companies are afraid of.

Agreed. His agent will know the right people to contact and they'll have his arse. What state are you in Hawgndodge? I work for an agent in Georgia.

I'm in Southwest Arkansas. We're kinda in the middle of nowhere so I'm familiar with getting a good adjuster and how smoothly they can make the claims process go for my customers and how not having one can make us look terrible as a company.
