Old LG top loader died.
Got a 2021 Speed Queen TR5.
Cleared the backlog of dirty clothes/towels (about 6 loads) that had piled up since the LG died.
Initial impressions:
Well built unit. The tub on the LG could be pushed side to side easily, but the SQ is rock solid.
Can't comment on if it cleans better as I didn't try anything super dirty or stained, but will update when I do. I was never impressed with the LGs cleaning, so hopefully the SQ with agitator will be far superior.

I purchased the SQ TR5 about a month ago to replace my Whirlpool Cabrio that bit the dust after 10 years.
My impressions of the SQ TR5 so far are the same as yours - very happy with it. I did seriously consider the Maytag commercial as recommended by a couple people on this board and it also looked good, but in the end I had done more homework on the SQ and decided to go in that direction, but it was a toss up between the two.

I know an appliance repairman, he says speed queen is the most reliable.

How much?
My LG died last weekend

Don't think they budge much from that $1K. Make sure they do delivery, set-up, and take away the old one for that same price.
I had found one store priced less, but with the delivery charge it came back to the 1K

We beyond satisfied with our speed queen washer and dryer

How does the speed queen handle large loads? I noticed they are smaller capacity than other washers and dryers. My wife has overloaded ours on occasion especially with comforters and such.

I think they fit a good amount of laundry. Honestly, the LG could fit more and I think that had a part in not cleaning that well. But even if it's a little less, I can do 2 loads now in about the same time it took to do one.
The only thing I think it may not fit that I could before is our King size comforter.
Gonna try this weekend and see how it handles it.

I asked the sales person this when I bought the SQ TR5 and she didn’t hesitate to state a Queen size comforter was the max size individual piece that should go into a SQ but she continued and stated that newer, even large per capacity washing machines should not have a king size comforter placed in them - just her comment.

Update: It washed it, but I wouldn't make a habit of it. Was pretty tight in there. (TWSS )
