Anyone got one they like and trust? I need one that can do the job right the first time. About once every 12-18 months roots get in need to be augured out.

Rent a 100’ cable w/ a cutter head and run it through the clean out, some manual labor definitely involved.

I bought a drain snake thing from Harbor Freight for $200 about 10 years ago. I was living in a house with clay tile sewer line & trees close to the main line. The $200 I spent at HF has probably saved me $1000.

I don't know if I have the confidence to do this. Maybe after I know it is augured out good to start I would feel comfortable going forward but not until a start-to-end professional has done it first.

I had used Rooter Man in Denham about 10 years ago. They augered about 80 ft from the house and I haven't had to call them since. Don't know how things are now, since personnel and business practices change.

I rented one of these machines for 50 bucks at a rent all place for 4 hours. It also wasn't sure if I could diy it but the machine was easy to use and I was able clear the clog. Its worth trying out but make sure you wear leather gloves and take your time the machine can cause injury if you are careless.
