Applied weed and feed with a spreader per the directions on the bag a couple weeks ago. There was a very light rain the next day, plenty enough to activate the chemical(s) but not enough to wash it away. Yard is full of clover today. I've seen better results with Scotts in previous years but I feel like I wasted $40 this year. Going to try the 2-4-D combinations that some have offered on this board. Guess I should have done that in the first place

you're a month and a half too early.

kill the weeds is all you need to be doing.

Use Image assuming your grass type allows. I did this. Smoked all the broadleaves, and then I came back with Bonus S.

I have always applied it in mid march and had great results. I would have thought that the application time is more weather/temp based than a calendar month name. Usually when I spread it, most of my grass is still brown with green patches, most of which are weeds. Right now my whole damn yard is green and the weeds are abundant. I was attributing this to the mild winter, lots of rain and very warm temps currently.

I have this and those other 2 products always recommended on the board.

Can I use that as a spot spray for visible weeds or is that supposed to be used on the entire yard?

You can spot spray it - I do it all the time.

Just wanted to throw in that the feed store has 2-4-D concentrate that will save you a ton of money compared to say Walmart. And glyphosate for that matter...

Awesome, thanks.

One last question, how thoroughly are you spraying? I quick squirt to get the visible plant coated? Or is a thorough spray to get the roots soaked as well necessary?

first year I haven’t done the applications myself and actually hired out a company to do it. That’s what I suggest to most who have issues with it.

Yard looks way better and I basically came out even.
