I’m in this market. Currently have an old rider and need to upgrade. I’ll have about 1.5 acres to cut. There is a steep hill I need to go up.

Are zero turns not as good on hills? Or is it more a function of transmission/engine power?

Cub's website said they teamed up with an "Asian manufacturer." Translation : "We cut our cost by going to China!" They may be ok, but surely not one of the "best engines on the market.." Maybe others will chime in.....

Did a little research on the Cub Cadets engine and it appears that 'Power More' is the manufacturer of C/C's engine. What little I have found is that Powermore supposedly copied Hondas engine design, IDK, just reading a little on it.

Another thing that kind of concerns me also is the EFI on this puppy. The EFI system on this thing could go bad in a few years and it would be nearly impossible to find replacement parts for this model.
Again, IDK, just speculating.

Heck, I would be willing to go down to the XT2 LX46 Series:

XT_LX46

This model looks to have less bells and whistles and has a Kohler engine.

They are more prone to rollover. That's why you see the roll over bars on them.

A 15 degree slope is the steepest they recommend.

I have a 2011 LTX 1046. bought from Home Depot. Kawasaki 20 hp.. The only issue I've had was the outer spindle pulleys, had to change them. It's a good little mower.

I'm in the market as well and will be pulling the trigger in the next couple weeks. I've narrowed it down to Gravely and Hustler. It was recommended not to buy the least expensive model (as it is designed to compete with the Big Box units.) so, I'm looking at the models right above the least expensive from both manufactures priced between $3300 (Hustler) and $4100 (Gravely).

Gravely ZT-X 42" KOHLER (24hp) approx $ 4100

Hustler Raptor Limited 42" Kawasaki (21.5hp)
approx $3300

I'm leaning towards the Gravely. Does anyone have any personal experience that they can share?
