I personally do a lot of things but dealing with the main pressurized water line is not something I am willing to take a risk on. I hired a local plumber recently to change out all 8 connections ( 2 toilet, 3 sink) at a condo I own and lease just so I did not have to worry constantly about flooding my unit. I feel better about spending the $400.

If you have to sweat anything use the yellow MAP not the blue propane tank. Between me and my neighbor I’ve seen various sweat jobs be unsuccessful with propane but MAP gas has done the trick every time.

OP must've failed at the task and flooded the bathroom leading to a complete remodel and now a strained marriage. There is no other reason I can think of for not updating this thread.

I agree with most on this post that it is simple DIY task not requiring special tools unless you have to sweat copper. I run into a couple of changeouts that turned into a disaster. (one had some sort of grey plastic pipe they used for a little while in the late 80's)

Hardest part is working under the sink
