The front door on our camp is out of square and doesn't seal properly, was hoping for contact info for someone in the Morganza/New Roads or even BR area that could replace the rotten door and repair or replace the frame.
TIA
TIA

I just had this guy do the same thing to 4 sets of doors at my house. He is out of Baton Rouge. Did a great job.

Jefe,
If you don’t mind me asking, what was the general price range per door, and what style of doors? I have two French doors we are considering replacing Vs refinishing them, depending on cost for both.

I got a quote to redo the front door. It is very old, single pane, faces the sun, etc. He wants $1k to redo it.
-Replace 2 raised panels with plywood and
new trim
-Re-glue door where needed
-Multiple coats of oil based primer until we
get a smooth finish on door
-2 coats of top paint
-change glass to double pane
-change door hardware in kind
To reset and reseal the doors (3 sets of french, one single) was $2k
Remove doors and frames from house. Replace hinges with original styles.
Add routed wood strips to door frames with "v style" replaceable door gasket.
Replace door threshold with a rubber gasket installed.
Installed rebuilt door frames in wall. Level and square to get a good seal on home.

Not as bad as I thought. We were quoted to refinish our French doors in the front around $2400. I am considering just replacing them completely but haven’t had that quoted yet.

Have yall tried to tackle a door frame replacement or is that something best left to carpenters/trim guys? Main issue is it's an hour and a half + away from any big box stores.
