Renewal by Andersen.... What's the boards opinion for those that fell for the sales pitch?

Didn't know I needed new windows until I had a salesmen show up. Was actually considering getting an addition done to our house for an office. We're expecting our first kid this year, and I'm currently occupying it's room as an office.

According to the itemized order, 3 windows and 1 specialty window is $17,000. Saved almost $6k by ordering them the same day.

Is the quality/installation good? The windows we have are Andersen, but they're original to the house circa 1994. They're vinyl and have began to separate at the corners where they're mitered together. One condensates. They're also wood framed, and getting replaced with the Fibrex framed windows.

I'm sure the quality of IN installers may vary compared to LA.

Anybody regret going with them?

Please tell me you are saving $6k off of the $17k and not paying $17k.

3 windows for $6k each is bonkers. This has to be two story pieces of glass at least 20' x 10'.

We replaced East facing front of the house windows that just get blasted by the Sun to some more energy efficient options (and a bit of tint). Not 2 months later a Renewal by Andersen person knocked on my door and said "I can see that your windows are pretty old and need to be replaced" and pointed to our brand new windows

I just baited him in. "Oh yeah, I just bought the house a few years ago, how old do you think the windows are?" etc. He just kept digging.

FTR, I used a local company and it was 4 windows for 10k roughly. I got the nicest options they had for the most part so it seems like your estimate is ridiculous unless they're just huge windows.

They gave a quote on my house to replace 14 regular size windows, it was $56k dollars. They told me if I signed today, I could get them for $38k. I literally laughed at the guy.

LAS quoted me $12k and Window World was 8k for the same amount of windows.

no

it would've been closer to $23k.

i agree.

2 rooms are roughly 50" x 50". they're split vertically and open via a hand crank.

one of those rooms has a half circle cutout above it.

the master bedroom has a triple casement window. its roughly 72" x 48".

Absurd pricing. Absolutely absurd. Next time he shows up on your stoop you should crack the door and let him hear you rack a shotgun
