I guess I’m looking for something that gives off a bad scent to them. They live in and terrorize my yard because I have a few old pecan trees. Seems like it’s getting worse. Over the past fall and winter the squirrels literally pulled up every winter annual I planted in the ground and in pots. Currently I’m starting flower seeds indoors and really don’t want all of this effort to go to waste. They don’t seem to mess with established plants.

Get a pellet gun and one these

Also, sprinkle cayenne pepper around your plants. Be careful not to get on the leaves. It works, but you have to reapply after rain.

This stuff works pretty well, the spray you have to reapply quite often. I'd do the same with granules. I put in my flower pots and works most of the time, but nothing beats a .22

Now we're talking! I had no idea such a thing existed. I've always trapped with a single catch trap.

Given that I currently have a skunk rambling around the premises, and this one looks to be too small for a skunk, I'm going to consider getting one of these. I've been meaning to buy a spray-proof trap because of the skunk (I think I trapped it once already when it was young and lucked out with being able to release it without it spraying), but haven't gotten around to it.
