I have my outdoor kitchen completed and I want to have a countertop ice maker to use out there.

I have never used one so I have no idea on capacity or speed. It would be nice if it had a water feed line so I would not have to pour water in it. I think it will need to be portable so I would just use a quick disconnect for the water.

Anyone have any experience with something like this? TIA

hoshi makes a nice countertop unit combo with water dispenser. And by the looks of things you can afford it

I saw that one yesterday but I do not think it has the option to connect a external water source. I have GE appliances inside so it was on our account page.

This one has dual water options and makes 34 pounds a day. The hopper only holds 3.3 pounds at a time

Nice room!

Does it get smoky in there when grilling or is there some panels to let a breeze through?

We have a Frigidaire nugget ice maker. It’s currently having the pump replaced. Loved it for 8 months before it went down. More expensive to ship to warranty center than have repaired locally. We use it in our kitchen, our outdoor kitchen for larger events, and hauled it 700 miles to Anna Maria Island last year.

Yesterday was my first cook back there. I smoked some ribs on the pellet smoker. No problem with smoke under the lanai. The panel behind the smoker is screen and it vented well. I am not sure about the flat top as I dont have the gas line connected yet. I have a stub out for gas but it is about 10 feet from the flat top so I need a plumber to come hook it up.

I was wondering when I designed it if I would eventually have to have a exaust hood installed. We will see

Sarasota Fl. Grand Park

Id like a bin style but I honestly dont have the space or really the need for it. If I have a big party, I will just have a cooler full of ice out there.

What ended up happening with the washout around your pool in that old thread?

Did you retire there or just a second house to enjoy? We're looking south of you.

The cooler isn't the worst idea either.

No, the community has two huge resort style pools so a lot of people go there. I would guess at this point, 40% of the house have their own pool. Some just have a caged in Lanai.

They ended up using helical piles to basically sure up the foundation then they dug out the soil and did the back filling and pavers all over again. So far, no issues. It's pretty solid and the helical piles should be there longer than I can live.

They finally got the right guys to do the pavers and they came out great. I also managed a much longer warranty on the pool area due to the odd repair.

I moved here for retirement but we are both still working and still will be for a while. neither of us want to stop working but we have not going at it as hard as I have been the past 15 years. Ive slowed a little bit

Yea, I was thinking about the counter top unit for when we just had a few friends over and if we had a bunch of people over, which we do from time to time, then I would just fill a cooler and be done with it.

I keep my boat at a storage facility near my shop and I have free ice there. I just dont need a huge ice machine at home anymore
