Question re: newly laid St. Aug Sod

Ronk and others,
So for newly laid St. Aug, you should just water in morning? You implied as much in another thread. I just planted St. Aug sod 10 days ago and a lot of it looks dead. Is the rule of thumb to water twice a day for the first 9 days? I read that somewhere.
Admittedly, I didn’t adhere to that schedule and instead watered once a day in either morning or afternoon.
Located in Baton Rouge.

Based on what I'm seeing in terms of temps and rain in BR I would water twice a day. The best time to lay sod is in the spring or fall when the temps are in the mid 80's. Once a day is usually enough. Once you hit 98, full sun, and minimal rain you're going to have to add more water.

Might not need to water until tomorrow afternoon after the downpour we just had. It’ll be damp but regular schedule would be water in the AM at the very least, afternoon second water.

Absolutely soak it the first 24-48 hours to make sure the ground beneath is saturated. Then keep it moist for the next 2-3 weeks to get the sod rooted.

3 times a day for the first 3, 2 times a day for the next 3, 1 time a day for the next 4, 1 time every other day for the next 2 weeks. In a month it is fully rooted.
No matter what you do, it will look like crap by day 7, but should start to make the turn shortly after.

2x a day for 30 mins each at least.

OP says they're well past 10 days at this point. I think with the heat, the two times a day watering is a must until Labor Day weekend. At least as long as we have 110+ heat indexes
