Bought a house and need a mower for a small yard front and back yard. what am I looking for in a mower besides maybe a honda or briggs engine? Plan on getting a Stihl weed eater to match my leaf blower that I already have.

Spend the money and get you a toro 30in cut walk behind. Might be 1,000 but will last you life time.

Don’t go to the big box stores for this. Spend a little more and go to somewhere like K&D in Baton Rouge or any other dealer that sells Honda or Snapper. I prefer the Snapper since it comes in a HiVac which basically acts like a vacuum cleaner. Works well for cleaning up the yard in the winter and obviously does well at bagging the clippings. Great engine too.
The Honda had a little better of a warranty and they’re great mowers too, but like I said, I preferred the Snapper.

Tell meal about this mower, please. Is it powerful? Does it handle high grass and or wet ground well?

I’ve heard, on YouTube, etc as well, they’re weak and won’t feed wet/heavy grass. The new $50 clutch cable on my snapper broke yesterday and that bitch is leaving a strip of uncut centipede so I’m shopping.

I bought a self propelled Honda that has dual mulching blades for $399.00. Bought it at a store locally that deals in high end mowers, chainsaws, blowers, weed eaters, etc. But the same exact lawn mower is at Home Depot for the same price. The blades are easy to change, the oil is easy to change, and the tuneup kit with the air filter, spark plug and engine oil comes in one package and is cheap. I like that I can cut my grass short in the spring and raise it up real high when it gets hot. I’ve owned 4 mowers in my life and this one is by far the best one I’ve ever had.

Small yard. Why spend too much for a small area. Stihl?
