Prodiamine coverage

I’m thinking about buying a big container of liquid prodiamine that will last awhile. I’ve always hear about it being the best pre emergent, but when I was reading the label it doesn’t look like it controls a lot of common weeds found in southern lawns like white clover, lespedeza, or nut sedge
What am I missing? Is there a better pre emergent if I don’t have a crabgrass issue?

Prodiamine is far from the best pre em. It works very well on crabgrass and I prefer using it in the spring. Specticle is the best pre em available.
Nutsedge and perennials cannot be controlled by pre ems.

It’s not what you asked, but in my experience you can easily control lespedeza and clover with just a little bit of nitrogen fertilizer. Cheaper than herbicides for sure.

I had a lot of poa annua hennit and nusedge in my Bermuda last winter. Prodiamine worked great on the crabgrass this spring but as was said, not so well on the others last fall.
Is there a better fall pre-emergent I can spread that isn’t as expensive as Specticle?

Can you explain this further please? I’ve not seen where nitrogen will control Lespedeza. In fact kind of the opposite. When I was using box store fertilizers on my centipede, with too much nitrogen, I was getting a lot of lespedeza.
Celsius at med rate has become my go to and has worked well.

Lespedeza and clover tend to grow better in low nitrogen environments. Ferting a yard won't kill it but like with most weeds a well maintained yard is going to have less weed pressure.

Thanks. I see y’all are saying “fall pre em”. Do y’all use something different in the spring?
Is there something I can get year around coverage with 2-3 applications?
Centipede grass btw

Some use prodiamine in the spring. I've used Dimension (Dithiopyr) in the fall and will continue to do so. I haven't had any issues with it.

Simazine/Specticle in the fall and prodiamine/Dimension in the spring. I like prodiamine better but Dimension does kill young crabgrass which prodiamine won't do.

I know nothing about either, so would you give your pros/cons on simazine vs specticle for fall pre-em
i have st aug in back and centipede in front

Simazine is cheap and specticle is expensive. Specticle does in one application what simazine does in two applications. You put specticle down in October and it lasts until February/March.

Where can I find Simazine and Specticle in the Dallas area. Looking to treat Bermuda.
