No offense but you sound like the worse neighbor here.
How is he a bad neighbor here?

The way I see it, the other guy certainly isn’t bad. He’s storing stuff on his property. And I agree, I wouldn’t want to look at it. But i also wouldn’t come on a message board going off in him and calling him a trashy neighbor just because I don’t like what he did. You don’t want someone messing with your view, buy the lot behind you, move to the country, do something. But it’s not the neighbors fault.
And you know this attitude bleeds over into real life interactions between them.

Looks like I was correct, you’re pretty insufferable.
The guy built a storage area in his back yard and you’re pissed off at him.
Insufferable because of a structure that was build 6 ft higher than my fence.

I understand it doesn't bother you as you probably live on the eastside of Houma which is like a 3rd world country or even worse, you are dulac and have no standards of what your yard should look like.

I certainly wouldn’t do that to my neighbor without talking to him and if I did I’d probably help pay for a privacy hedge/fence. That is a permanent eye sore that hurts his property value.

Anonymously? Who cares?

Do you? I don’t think this message board always mirrors behavior in real life.

you'd shite yourself if you saw how awesome my yard is. it sounds like you're the one that lives in a self described "trashy" neighborhood.
And i'm not understanding this, are his 4wheelers up on some sort of rack where they stick over your fence? The guy built a lean to. You prefer him to just leave his stuff in the yard and get messed up to make you happy?
I do build stuff in my back yard and i actually do talk to my neighbors before i do it because we all have a great relationship. And you know what every one says? "it's your yard, do what you want"
all i see is threads that say " f the hoa, i want to do whatever i want to do." then the moment someone does something that in reality sounds pretty normal and mundane, people want to get up in arms.
put a hedge up, take a gummy, walk over to your neighbor and have a beer with him and chill the frick out. I couldn't imaging living with animosity like that with a neighbor

He made a pretty benign thread asking for privacy hedge advice.

Literally all he said on an anonymous message board

You are a douche and have taken this to another level. It was a simple question to get ideas to block a 12 foot structure that is 12 inches from my fence and you get things sideways.
You should jump off of your pedestal because you don't live in a fantasy world like you think you do poochie!
If you have nothing of benefit to add to this post GTFO!

Getting back on topic….as far as the jasmine goes, if you bought one of those galvanized raised bed planters, you could put a trellis or two in there to let the jasmine climb up the fence and under plant around it with some color like petunias or something that spills over the planter box. Depending on how much room you have, those boxes come in many lengths and sizes.

Jasmine is excellent and will grow fast. Burford Hollys would work as well if he doesn’t have much depth but would take more time. Things like viburnum will take up too much space.

How big of a mess does the jasmine vines make? I ask because my pool is about 8ft from that said fence that i want to put something against.

That’s pretty. I’ll bet it smells nice and the pollinators love it.

I have one about 4-5 feet from the corner of our pool as a barrier for the shower and get little or no mess from it. The flowers pretty much just drop into the viney bottom stuff of it.
