Went to big box stores and can’t find Amaze brand to prevent any new weeds in my cleaned up flower beds. Bought Hi-Yield Turf and Ornamental at Perino’s. Anyone use this product? Not much directions on back. Says to just spread on beds or turf. Should last 3-4 months. With Amaze, have to work in ground and water down which is different with this Hi-Yield product. Called company and they never called back!! Thanks in advance.

Yes - it is Dimension (dithiopyr) and a very good pre-emergent to use in lawns, but also landscape beds. Here is the label with application rates LINK.

States application as high as 0.92 pounds per 100 sq ft. I’d suggest you split the application, applying 1/2 pound per 100 sq ft of landscape beds now, and another 1/2 pound per 100 sq ft in 3 or 4 months. Water it after you apply it. You can apply it directly on top of mulch.

Is this a granular product? You can just apply this on top of mulch around bushes and plants and it wont kill those?

That is correct - it kills germinating weed seeds (but that would also include any flowers planted in the beds as seed but not as transplants). It is a pre-emergent herbicide, not a post-emergent herbicide (I’ll let you internet search the difference).

Thanks. Watering after application was what I was wondering. I don't use mulch on back yard flower beds but lots of spaghnum moss added to soil. Appreciate!!
