Looking for a recommendation on a new saltwater system for my pool. I currently have a resilience system that is pretty old and the control board is starting to go out.
Main concerns are getting something reliable, and something with quality cells that will last a long time. Also looking at what the replacement cost for the cells are down the road
Have it mostly narrowed down to the pentair IC 40 system or the circupool core 35 system

I no longer have a pool (sold the house) but when I put mine in, the pool guy said to get the Hayward. At the time it was the most expensive but I was happy with it.
Pentair is at the top of the list as well.

Hayward all the way for me, it has been a great unit.
Make sure you get the T-15 cell. It has more capacity output.
Pentair variable speed motor, also for the win.

Switch to a UV/Ozone system. Unless you prefer salt.

I prefer salt, only in the sense that I am familiar with it at this point. Definitely not doing liquid chlorine though, as salt is so easy to deal with

I have salt. Have started building pools in SELA and have only put UV systems in so far based on recommendations from a partner company in BR. It’s easier than salt. Water passes through UV system and kills the bacteria. Add a couple of chlorine tabs into the a reservoir during the summer months as a helper and thats it. Just a suggestion.
When my salt cell goes out, will probably switch over.

Can you recommend a system for UV?

Been using the Paramount UV2 sanitizer and Clear O3 systems although 5 of the last 11 pools still don’t have the Ozone part because it is on back order.

What sampling is done to track whether the UV system is working?

I believe its the same testing. I know all of customers have said its stays clear and when they bring it in to get tested, it’s usually perfect.

Pool built in 2008 and replaced SWG two years ago. I like what Ive read about the UV2 sanitizers. Is it a complicated retro fit into existing SWG pool system? Might consider this when the SWG fails in 6 years or so.

So just using the paramount UV 2 system should be ok? There isn’t a lot of info I can find out there on these systems

Basically just plumbing it in line and powering it. I would get the Ozone too, but it isn’t a huge deal to not have if you have to wait.

I do beleve UV works, but it would seem with the volume of water in a pool you would need a huge UV source and running the pump all the time..
