Heat as well?

No. He told me we would have to re-wire if we do a combo. I guess my wiring is too small for it. I am ok not swimming in the winter, but I don't want to feel like I am swimming in a urinal during the summer.

Mine runs 23 hours a day, everyday. From 7:00 AM to 6:00 AM.

why?

the MINIMUM is turning your pool over once a day. most pumps will do that in 2-8 hours depending on speed.

I don't know. My pump is running at 2300 RPM for a 18,500 gallon pool. I am all ears, but I like the water moving. My neighbor's crepe myrtle drops a lot of flowers in my pool.

How high is your light bill with your pool running 23 hours a day?

It really wasn't bad until it started getting hot and both my A/C's are running 24/7. I really didn't notice much difference from before I had the pool dug.

Get a Betta Bot. It's been a game changer.

I have a feeling paying $40 for something it’s going to break pretty easily

It is $400 and it's worth every penny, especially if your wife's primary gripe is about stuff being on the surface of the water. I've had mine since the beginning of the year and it never stops skimming. It's awesome.

Did you get an extended warranty?

Yeah, I did. Don't buy it through Amazon where they offer a generic warranty. Buy it from BettaBot directly and get their warranty if you're going to get one.

you are probabaly turning your pool over 5-6 times.

this is a great reason to do it.. I do too.

another great reason... fast pump skims, slow pump filters.

I was just commenting you dont HAVE to run it that much, and you can save power. and really if you have a variable speed, look at the speed/power curve... running low speeds is WAY cheaper than running high. you really only want to run it high for how ever long it takes to skim your pool

I just dont see how they can keep an accurate reading on the chemesty. both pH an chlorine probes are expensive to keep calibrated. I know one of the sevrices requires you to send the device back to them every so often to calibrate.

how long have you worked for bettabot?

i love how they strewed purple flowers in the pool on the homepage video so when they emptied it all that was in it was a beautiful lavender forest.

props for also homing in on the bellybutton of the girl with the shorty shorts.

ive always had cheap single-speeds (well both pools i've owned) and just ran the damn thing 24/7 in season and didn't think about it again.

“If you have variable, run it on a lower setting throughout the day and run it on a higher setting in the evening.”

My pool guy set my up opposite of that when he installed my new pump. I Put in a pentaire variable.. run it 24/7
I think it is set at 2400 for day and 1200 for night.. summer and winter.. the pool stays spotless and has really stabilized efforts to keep it all in line..you can not hear it at all at the lower speed even when right next to pumps.

The power consumption of the new pumps and variable is minimal. I have a single stage for my water features and extra spa pumps.
