Has anyone attempted to change out their pool lights themselves or leave it to a professional? This is the 2nd time mine has gone out and the pool company charges a lot just for replacing 1 and now I have 2 out. Any advice from someone who has handled themselves?

Youtube it. Looks pretty straight forward. Turn off the power.

I've actually checked it out on YouTube as suggested and it def doesn't seem that bad. Considering calling a local pool supply store to ask for advice too.

The newer LED ones look like a pain to change. The whole unit including the wiring gets replaced. I had a defective set of 3 that all went out in less than two years. Luckily it was a known issue and the pool company was able to replace it all at no cost.

I’ve done it. Like the others have said, watch YouTube videos. Really not too bad. For me, the trickiest part was getting the correct replacement. I emailed pentair with pics of my old one and they took care of me.

What kind of light? I have GloBrites (they’re pieces of shite btw) and the replacement is straightforward.

I'm not sure on this. I can simply check this by turning off the light breaker, unscrew the light ring and pull out to check the make/model, correct?

The first time I changed mine this is what I did. Simply pulled it to the surface of the pool and the make/model and bulb type was located on the light housing. I also opted to change the lens gasket at the same time.

Finally was able to take one light off. It's a Pentair 60100X light. I would assume the other is the same so I'll check that one this afternoon.
