Pool has been down about 10 years and there is roughly 1200sqft of concrete decking around it. Looking to do a diy coating but not sure what the best route to go is. What are some options and if you have done something in particular, how is it holding up?

I had sun deck put down and it was definitely not a diy job. Took two guys 3 days for tape off everything level out, spray texture, grind in flagstone design, then spray color.

Could just clean with Muratic acid to freshen up concrete a call it a day?

Maybe check wherein Wilkins and see if they have any coatings that will work. Their always super knowledgeable and will explain how to do everything.

We used to coat over our old cool deck with H&C concrete solid concrete stain. The one with the maroon/red label every few years. It held up well enough for a few years. LINK /

$4.25/SF for the new decking. $5.50/sf for existing patio that had to be prepped and leveled out.

Do you have any pictures of the finished project you can share?

The scroll work to resemble flagstone really broke up the typical cool deck look. Glad I went with it.
