Been using Prodiamine as preemergent in spring and fall. Poa out break is improving but still cropping up. Other weeds seem under control but the Poa is hard to kill.
Is it safe to use a weed/grass killer like Spectricide on these spots while Bermuda is still dormant or will that kill the grass too ? It does kill whatever weeds I spray during the year. Central Arkansas.

Use the winter weed cocktail. Atrazine, Weed Free zone, Spreader Sticker.. It’s widely discussed here. It won’t hurt your Bermuda if it is still dormant and will take care of Poa as well as a multitude of other pest weeds.

I wouldn’t use prodiamine as your fall pre em. You need to rotate pre ems and prodiamine isn’t super effective on poa. Try a split app of simazine or a single app of specticle. Atrazine will control poa unless it’s resistant. Then you’ll need atrazine and certainty. If your Bermuda is greening up you’d need monument which is really expensive.

Negate is labeled for poa annua and is probably the cheapest post emergent you can get for active bermuda. Certainty and as mentioned Monument also labeled for poa annua but much pricier.
