I want to upgrade my ceiling fans but all the ones that put out high CFMs are direct current on remote controls.
Would I have to rewire everything for a DC fan?
Concerned about losing or breaking the remote.

Cajun Kooling
I just checked out their web site. On picture on there is the Agave porch with their units. I’ve sat under there on a hot day. Those things work if you’re in the direction of the air being blasted. I’m looking forward to seeing how they do residentially

Update:
So I took the plunge and ordered the Cajun Kooling unit. It just got delivered. I’ll set it up and run it this weekend. And I’ll report back later with my findings and review.
:fingerscrossed:

It's apparent he froze to death.

Adding misters and a good fan works fine. It’s not AC but not ??

I have 3 of these Lasko fans and 3 ceiling fans in my outdoor kitchen and patio area. They are the best thing since sliced bread. Durable, quiet, and the best fan I've ever tried. I normally set all of them on low and it feels like I'm sitting on the beach with a nice breeze.

Reporting back ...
Several things:
-So I bought the smaller unit. My back patio nearest the pool is open on 3 sides. It does not maintain the whole area and keep the entire patio cool. I’m not sure if that is because of the openness. So it certainly wouldn’t work to cool it all down if I had a party or had people over.
-That being said, 99% of the time I’m just sitting out back by myself — I sit out back everyday whether kids are outside swimming or not. When I moved the unit close to me, it’s fantastic. It most certainly blows cooler air than just a fan. So that’s certainly a plus, and truthfully that’s really all I was looking for. Feels great, even when heat index was 110+ this past week. But it needs to be near you.
-I haven’t tried adding ice yet, which is main reason I haven’t updated the post. I was a little disappointed because it’s just a small trapdoor in the front to fill with water. So it’s not big enough to add whole frozen bottles of water or some frozen jug into it like I thought would be possible. I’ll add some ice to it this weekend.
So yes it feels great and totally squashes the heat if its parked near your seating area. But my unit is too small or maybe just not capable of changing the mini climate of the entire patio area.
ETA:
I’m glad I got it. It works great for what I need it to do. But it doesn’t keep entire patio cool. You won’t even notice it more than 12 ft away or so.
Covered patio area is roughly 30 x 12 ft.

When I bought mine adding ice wasn't an option for any models. When I saw the owner at a show a year later he explained to me how to retro fit mine to add ice. It took about an hour and $15 of parts.
A year or two later I learned they now make two versions for some models. One comes already made to add ice or frozen jugs and one where you can't unless you retro fit it like I did.
The difference is for the ice version, the side of the unit is removable so you have a huge opening to add ice or frozen jugs. It also has some additional safety features.
I recommended that you come visit me so I could explain everything plus I could have saved you a few hundred dollars off the sticker price.
If you do add ice it will need to be in the 20# range plus the frozen bottles otherwise it won't last long.

That’s my plan. I know the ice will melt very quick. I need to go exchange my propane tanks tomorrow. I will buy some big bags of ice to toss in the deep freezer. I’m really anxious to pour in a whole bag and fill it up with water and see what kind of difference it makes. It’s been very cloudy/rainy with steady breeze lately. So hasn’t been stifling heat out or I would have already done it.
