Cable company keeps jacking my monthly bill up. Any of you all have one of these in the country. I know in cities it's useful my sister has one in Rockwall just outside of Dallas. Even though you get a lot of trash channels (Spanish, Christian etc) are they worth it? Looked up my area as far as channel selection with a antenna and it seems it's all I need besides internet which I will keep for streaming. TIA and frick all cable companies.

The Tech Board has a sticky on cutting the cord. Most of your questions may be answered there.

I do OTA and have a Tablo as my dvr for OTA broadcasts. The streaming services have expanded their capabilities to the point you may be able to use their on demand library as a substitute for a dvr.

It's not perfect as the subscription fees are creeping up too.

Hulu Live, You Tube TV etc have local channels.

I haven't had cable or satellite in a few years.

I have an RCA indoor antenna along with Roku. Happy as can be. During football season I subscribe to YOUTUBE TV and cancel when season ends. Best of all...IT'S FREEEEEE!

Got tired of paying 180/month for direct tv. Got an outside antennae and use the iPad or phone for streaming. Plenty of channels to choose from if we just want to watch one of the major networks or the classics such as MeTV or Grit.

I have one in my attic, I use it if/when Internet goes out. I pick up a bunch of channels.
