New mower possibly a standup

I am having to bite the bullet and buy a new mower. I was looking today and in one of the shops they had a brand new standup Encore 60". He said he'd do $5500 cash on it and it threw me off because I wasn't looking for a standup. I don't know anything about Encores. Does anyone here have any experience with them? TIA

With a 60" cut I hope you're cutting flat ground

I don’t know about that brand, but I know a guy that had a standup when I was growing up and he liked it. Seems like it would be quite a workout as far as I am concerned.

You will love a stander, but 60 is a bit much. Flat ground is definitely needed or your yard will look like crap. Btw I have a Bradley stander 48 I absolutely love it

Yeah standers are great.
If i still owned my commercial landscape business, I'd have a fleet of SCAG V-Rides. Those V-Rides are some really nice machines with a small footprint. And your knees absorb the bumps, not your butt.

seems harder to drink beer on a stand up.

I hardly drink anymore but when I did, it's a pain in the arse to drink a beer in a zero turn also. Both hands are always on the sticks. And dust and wrap always got in the can or bottle.
Pro tip--smoke a joint while mowing. You need your hands much less that way.

To attempt to answer your question, standers are really nice if you have limited storage/trailer space. I have zero experience with Encore.
A 60" cut isn't bad. I mow several acres of unlevel field type grass with a 61" and I've never had scalping issues. A 72" i know I would have scalping issues. I wouldn't hesitate to get a 60" deck unless you had a lot of obstacles or had to deal with like a fence gate or something.
