I received this quote this week and wanted to know if it looked about right. The company is a well respected one within our neighborhood. The owner came out and did the quote and said they are only good for 15 days because of insane supply issues they are having.

Bid will consist of systems RUUD brand including one outdoor condenser, matching indoor evaporator coil, emergency drain pan and float switch.
-Down stairs 3.5 ton
16 seer condenser
Slab style evaporator coil -Total $7725

-Upstairs 2.5 ton
16 seer condenser
Slab style evaporator coil -Total $7375
Both systems have 10 yr part warranty when registered 1 yr labor warranty

So looking at $15,100 to replace both units. Both units are about 20 years old so it is getting close to time. TIA.

Given the run-up in HVAC equipment costs the past year, that looks like very good to excellent pricing for Seer 16 units. Supply is indeed an issue.

Where you located - sounds like someone I should get bid estimates from if anywhere near Baton Rouge.

When broken down, I got about the same estimate for RUUD units very recently. Pricing looks good to me. Those 16 SEER RUUDs are supposed to be great and super quiet.

That’s not terrible.

Im building a new house and got the following:
2 Trane 17 seer hvac and Gas heating units with R8 ducts for $20,000

I got many quotes from $18,000 up to $40,000 so I suggest getting at least 5 quotes or more. You can also negotiate. My initial quote was $22,750 but got him down to an even $20,000.

I'm in the AC biz. If the install is quality, that price is absolutely solid given today's market condition.

ETA: I'm assuming they aren't changing your gas furnace since it's not listed in your quote?

Yes that is about right.

I had a new system installed back in December. The company had to come back twice to repair the leaks. They didnt charge me for that.

What company? I'll be in the market soon and on the NE side.

I replaced a 3.5 and 2.5 ton about a year ago for around 13K. I would say given the current environment, that is not a bad quote.

ETA: that was with new furnaces.
