Are there laws or anything regulating this?
One acre lots. Everyone has nice floodlights on motion sensors and nobody just leaves them "on."
New build next door and they have floods (searchlights really) that light up 4 acres. It's like a football stadium. We can't sit on front or back porch without being blasted. This can't work when we want to host bbq's.
We've mentioned they are a nuisance but they continue to turn them on at night and morning.

MOTHER.

frickING.

THIS.

maybe i'm a bit more polite than the average joe but i have OCD when it comes to bright lights and make sure my floodlights are all off either due to being connected to a smart switch or because i religiously turn the house down at night.

every house i've lived it seems the neighbors leave their floodlights on all freaking night.

who among us hasn't had the urge to sneak out at night with a bb gun and take them out?

so rude.

the damn thing is pointing at MY HOUSE, not yours.

our new neighbor just installed a NEW ONE last month where there wasn't one before and that thing points directly to our frosted bathroom window and reflects off the inside mirror so its like daylight at night.

ok, got that out of my system.

why are people so inconsiderate these days?
