Well 20 years or so later the washer has died. Ordered parts from Amazon (shocks) and hope to fix Saturday. But if I need to hit Lowes or Home Depot, what does TD say is great and or avoid. Thank you!

TD will say speed queen. Expect to pay out the nose for a fairly simple washer. BTW love my speed queen that this board recommended

My washer finally died this summer. New units were in back order for months. Fix up your unit and ship now. The manufacturers may have caught up.

Speed queens are great, because they last a long time and do not have a bunch of bells and whistles.

Save your money and go simple. I bought a Hotpoint from Lowes 5+ years ago when I bought my first house. Still going strong.
