I'm looking to diy my outdoor kitchen. When I bought my house it was already roughed in with gas, electricity and water, so basically all I have to do is build the frame, lay brick and granite. Any tips, plans or ideas would be appreciated. Basically want an L shaped kitchen with fridge, grill and sink...maybe an egg on one side or the other. Thanks

Consider adding a pull-out trash/recycle bin...that is great to have.

Are you planning to drain your sink to a sewer line?

Ventilation as it relates to your grill.

Last thing you want to worry about is preventing smoke build up under your patio and having to place a box fan just the right way to air the place out.

Do you have hot and cold water access? I had only cold water and the cost to get hot water run did not seem worth it. Ended up putting a 2 1/2 gallon hot water heater under the counter and it was well worth it since cold water only would have been a waste of a sink.

You can also do a tankless water heater that takes up very little room under the sink.

I put a commercial gas oven and stove in my outdoor kitchen- use it all the time.

consider having countertop overhang for bar/counter stools on the other side of the island...

I saw a really great guide on framing up an outdoor kitchen on youtube a while back I'll see if I can find it.

Definitely recommend an egg. I use mine all the time

Found it

It's a simplistic build, but I think he does a good job on simplifying the framing process

Don’t short yourself on storage. Stainless cabinets, drawers, and trash bin.

Unless you absolutely need a fridge, don't put a fridge outside.

If you have to have one, just buy a cheap one that you can replace easily.

They just won't last.

I didn't have room for a stack of drawers, but I have cabinet area under the grill and under my sink. Not very organized but comes in handy.
