Need help with what’s wrong with my squash plants

My 4 year old started a small garden and the squash plants were coming up like gangbusters, but overnight the leaves turned this wilted color.
I have no experience with this and Google has all kinds of different things it could be. Before I assume something is wrong, is this normal? And if not, what do those of you with experience think it could be?

Will sevin dust take care of it?

If it is squash vine borer they will eventually kill the plant. You can check for them by lifting the leaves and checking the main stem(s) of the plant. You'll look for quite small, discolored holes along the stem. Those would be the holes where the borer larvae entered the vine.
That said, it looks like those plants aren't wilting right now, which if it were the borer you would see, or begin to see shortly. It looks more bacterial, at least right now, which could be from the work of the squash bug (different from the squash vine borer). You could dust them with Sevin and keep a watch. If they don't start to wilt pretty soon, then it probably isn't the borer or a bacterial wilt.

My recommendation…..
Get some onslaught and spray the entire area and thoroughly spray the squash. Even under the leaves.
I’ve never seen squash look like that.

Looks like leaf rot. Side dress with lime and fertilizer.
