I have a 20 x 20 area that was a carport and is now enclosed:
- vaulted ceiling (no attic) with 3 cross beams at about 8 foot.
- mini split with blower up around 7 foot.
- dehumidifier set at 40-45.
- room faces west with no shade and large windows with cellular blinds (to help keep the sun out)

During the summer, I'm seeing condensation occasionally form on the vaulted ceiling and cross beams, but I can't figure out the scenario. It seems to occur the day after an all day rain or cloud cover, followed by a hot sunny day.

It happened today sometime after lunch but now it it dried up.

Any insight would be appreciated.

Going to need some more info on construction, any space between roof sheeting and vaulted ceiling? What is the roof and sheathing material consist of?

First thought is to add a ceiling fan in there circulating the hot air downward to get conditioned. You could do a decorative cross beam to mount. Remember, it’s crazy hot out this summer so you might have to get creative.

I agree that you may need a ceiling fan to push that hot humid air down to the lower cooler area for your dehumidifier to reach. Is there any insulation between the room and ceiling material?

Being it was a carport is there a vapor barrier under the slab?

We had an issue with our master bedroom after we built. Ac vent over the bed would condense and drip on bed if we didn’t leave fan on all day. Turns out, none of the subs sealed the where the Sheetrock meets the beam. 1/4” gap x2 for 16’. I used round styrofoam gap filler to push in there then sealed it with caulk. No more issues. It was 16’ up so I couldn’t see it from the ground.

Is there any form of ridge or ridge vent above the vault?
