I have a 1-year old minisplit that has started to ice over and make loud click/pop noises when in cooling mode. Filters are clean, would I be looking at a freon issue or something else?

I know ours leaked at one of the swage connections and it iced over when it leaked enough.

It could be another issue, I’d call someone out to conduct a leak search. If you are handy pull the head away from the wall and spray a soap water mixture on all the connections and look for bubbles do the same thing outside

These are cheap enough to have on hand for just such an issue. I just installed 2 mini splits in my shop, line sets passed vacuum test for 2+ hours, but one of them threw a “not cooling/low freon” code after a few hours. It was nice having this meter to rule out any leaks. I’m fairly certain I have a bad sensor that’s throwing the code, awaiting word from manufacturer.
