Covered my lemon and satsuma during the Christmas hard freeze.

Meyer has not leafed out yet satsuma has 1/4 new leaves approx. A good amount of the small terminal branches appear dead. I trimmed some back. Tree has been in the yard 4 years, healthy 5-6” at base.

Worry? Wait a couple of weeks and fertilize and move on?

I wouldn't panic yet. I used to have a big tree and it lived through many winters. It did die several years back though, the year we had a few snows and very hard freezes was more than it could endure.

It would drop leaves and not leaf back out until it was obviously spring.

We planted one in July. It looks really bad.

Spring time will likely require us to replace it. I am considering another option.

I would wait until early summer. I have a Meyer lemon that froze a couple of years ago. Seemingly lifeless branches were sprouting leaves long after everything else had sprouted leaves.

I have one, probably 12’ high, and it’s flowering right now. Just wrapped the trunk and watered it deep for the freeze. Was surprised to see the buds forming a few weeks ago.

From our experience with Improved Meyer Lemon tree, we were advised it would not survive after 2 freezes about 3 yrs ago. We couldn’t bear to cut tree down. Well, tree producing huge lemons and flowers at same time. So much for LSU Ag advice as anything is possible.
