Building an 18'x20' metal shop/shed with 10' walls and looking for advice on the most cost efficient but effective insulation method.

cost effective = standard metal building vinyl backed blanket insulation. They’ll install it between the girts/purlins and the panels as they erect the building

Spray Foam! Not the most cost-efficient, but definitely the most effective by far.

I have spray foam on the ceiling after the thick "bubble wrap" held up with wire mesh blew down last hurricane. It was a noticeable positive difference.

there are pros and cons with spray foam. one of the cons is if they spray it on to the exposed inside face of the panel, you aint EVER getting that panel off. also when inevitably there is a leak at the fasteners, it will be impossible to find.
spray foam is great but it considerably lessens the opportunity to make changes/repairs to the building in the future.

Good info and didn't know those factors you mentioned.

Over two million square feet installed in Florida. Spray foam beats anything you consider.

Open cell foam will show you where the leak is.
That and 10” (roof) and 5” (walls) has a 2 ton mini split keeping just under 2700’ with 10 and 12’ ceilings at 72.
