I am looking reputable place to buy one of the above. I would rather not buy from Lowe's or Home Depot. I know they may not be in season currently, but I am more asking for the future.

Bantings (Westbank) should have what you are looking for..

This is the only good crepe myrtle...

All that's going to do is make them send up tons of small, weak branches which will bend over when they bloom. It certainly won't kill them. Looks stupid, as well. Either kill 'em or prune them properly. Unless you like them looking stupid.

Moved in to a house with 3 crepe myrtle's by the street. I thought they looked nice. Planted two more along the side of my driveway.
If you must have a crepe, do NOT plant it beside your driveway.

+1 to Bantings, and Perinos on Vets. Also try the Plant Gallery on Airline.
Crape myrtles are great small/medium trees. Yes, they will lose leaves in winter and drop flowers in summer. But they provide some nice fall color, shade, and have attractive bark.
Flowering cherries don’t do well this far south. But a reputable nursery won’t stock trees that don’t perform here.

Not if you prune them correctly.

Perino's on Vets in Metairie. Near Causeway. Not the cheapest but they have good stuff and are very informed about care and upkeep if you ask. I believe they deliver but not sure the cost.

Be sure you know the color variety. Hard to buy if they are not blooming when you buy them.

I’d get a Japanese Magnolia before either of these two plants.
