so I inherited this really cool and old painting of Istanbul Harbor from my mom. It's a 4-figure painting because its old and in really good shape. The framing was very ornamental with all kinds of curves and wavy crap -- I was not a fan of the frame. Anyway it fell and busted up the frame. Thankfully, the painting is fine. Looking for recs of reputable framing people who could do it justice. And because of the painting's value, how does one document that you've given it to be framed? I mean this isn't re-soling a pair of shoes. Do I ask for some sort of receipt that this person has the painting?

Thanks.

btw -- BR area ...

Lagniappe Frame Shop. Go see Stacey. She’s good people and I can highly recommend.

I have had good luck with Anne Connally Gallery for framing some of my art.

They will also hang the art if you need that level of service.

Daryl and Sons are great. They re-framed an oil painting for us. Their selection of frames is bigger than Frameworks. We went there first but they didn't have anything we liked with that particular painting.
