Have old single pane aluminum windows that have air leaks and big time sweating issues. I have had window world, Holmes building, and now Andersen price new windows. Holmes quoted Sierra pacific vinyl. Andersen is approx 3-4x the other two. Is there a 3-4x benefit going with Andersen? Any other recommendations on brands? Heard Marvin is nice but pricey....

Any info/suggestions are appreciated. Thanks

No

And honestly, if you’ve got single pane 60 year old windows then literally anyone you go with, as long as theyre double pane argon filled, is going to be a massive improvement.

Looks, noise reduction, heat/cool retention, energy bill improvement.

Find out what the Solar Heat Gain Coefficient (SHGC) is on the windows. Especially important on windows with afternoon sun. The lower the number the better.

I used world of windows. They were 200 bucks each including installation. My house was 60+ years old and was single pane loose rattling windows. They were well worth it. And they were 30-36” wide and up to 5 or 6 foot tall.

They required flashing due to the fittment in such an old house but that was maybe another 100 bucks per window. Really good investment.

I work for Pella. There are pros and cons of all windows. Look into warranties on the windows you are interested in. There always seem to be some type of warranty claim at some point. Want to make sure you are covered.

I priced window world and Acadian. Once I compared apples to apples meaning window worlds good windows and Acadians it was almost a wash. Went with Acadian because they had a better warranty. Installers did an awesome job as well. For summer I didn’t see a huge difference in energy bill. However, it was a big reduction during winter.

I need to get windows as well. I have 40 year old single pane metal frame windows.

I was thinking about getting the 2000 or 4000 series from Window World. Anyone know if these are decent enough?

Did you mean Window World?

That sounds too good to be true.

Ah, okay. So, they weren't $200 including installation.
