I'm not pro'd out on RO systems, but my understanding is they take a long time to generate water, and they go through a lot of water while generating. It's overkill IMO unless you're just want as pure of drinking water as you can get.

If your water is hard, the softener is what you need. It definitely helps.

There is also a charcoal filter that can filter out chemicals like chlorine, pesticides and herbicides. If the well is more shallow I would think a charcoal filter might be needed, but the ground is going to likely filter out that stuff before it gets to the aquifer. This same system can use different filtration medias other than charcoal. I think walnut shells is one of them oddly enough.

If your water has a sulphur smell to it, there is another tank that aerosolizes the water with a pump and the aerosolization process removes the sulphur smell.

Lastly, the three stage filter would remove sediment from your water if you have sediment. I need to add the 3 stage filter to my house.

At our barndo, we are currently pumping from the well to a 1300 gallon holding tank with a vent to air out the sulfur, then through an I spring sediment and charcoal filter, at the kitchen sing is a 3 stage waterdrop RO setup for drinking water, no complaints at this time. I've been wanting to send off some samples for testing.
