leaking brass connections

I recently installed a couple of brass connections to bridge the flow of water between my hot/cold supply lines and a new faucet for a clawfoot tub. I used plumbers tape on the threads before tightening. After tightening to the maximum extent possible, small individual beads of water slowly form at the connections, resulting in a drip once per 5 minutes or so. It would be quite difficult for me to attempt to re-seal these connections. Any recommendations for stopping these beads forming from the outside?

Maybe try a thread sealant instead of the tape. Not a plumber and this could be completely incorrect lol.

I've heard tape isn't actually a sealer, but acts as more of a lubricant on the threads.
Think I heard that on some engineering youtube video.

If you are trying to fix it the right way you can replace the connections with new ones.
If you are just trying to fix it enough so it doesn't leak you can turn the water off to depressurize the line and dry everything good and get some gorilla glue epoxy and seal it.

thats your problem
if you overtighten brass fittings then will bend and leak
it literally gets egg shaped if you put too much pressure on them.
replace with new fittings and teflon tape and snug them up, then an extra 1/4 turn only. if they still leak then turn a little more just enough to stop the dripping

If it’s brass with neoprene gaskets you probably over tightened. Backing off should fix it but if it were me I’d replace the gasket then tighten again. You could use thread sealer but I’ve twisted pipe taking off fitting with thread sealer.

This, and it applies to any type of threaded metal connection. Usually there is a table with either recommended torque values or FFWR (flats from wrench resistance).
