Lap Siding Repair

I have about 200 ft of siding on my house that needs to be replaced. It's that crappy pressboard lap siding that they used in the 90's. LP discontinued a product that was very similar a few years back. Anyone know something similar or have any recommendations? LINK This is what it looks like. Its 12" wide panels.

Ha, I have the same and went thru this last summer
The only place I found that had it was, like 6 states away, and had a minimum large order, much more than I needed.
I said frick it and used standard, 1 x 6 wood lap siding. It came out OK. From a distance, you cant tell they dont match.
Im in BR area, and I called all lumberyards around here. I even called the reclaim places, and antique lumberyard places.
All no luck.
A long shot that I did not do, is call the vinyl siding installers and ask if they have any upcoming jobs to replace the masonite shite. It would probably be free to pic up after they demo. Just cleanup the best pieces for your use.

I used to replace that frequently. For a long time I was able to get new pieces at Ed Price ( now Holmes), but I don’t know if they have any anymore. When I couldn’t get any I would use hardi plank with a similar profile.

Original pressed siding in the 70, an futher was called Masonite. Hardi plank has replaced. They have a number of replacement products, as with any thing like this. You’ll spend a bunch of time and effort to find a replacement.

Another shot, you might try Blanchard building materials in Plaquemine. They might be able to help. It’s a short drive from I-10, South.

My OCD would make me replace all the siding on the house, or at least on that side of the house with hardie or similar. Only a matter of time for the rest of that Masonite stuff.
