Over the years I've torn up quite a bit of the original landscaping in my front yard and replaced with plants I liked or thought would do well. Some have taken off and some have not done so well. Now I have a mix of stuff that looks good and some stuff that looks terrible. Just recently I've ripped out some african irises as they became overtaken by weeds and other grasses not to mention they always die-back in the winter and now I have a large empty bed. Instead of just replacing plants in that one bed, I'm ready to come up with a cohesive plan and I'm looking for someone to generate an overall design instead of just planting what I think looks good now. I want something that will look good today and improve over the next 5-10 years. I'll buy the plants and do the work, I'm just looking for someone to generate a design. Any recommendations?

Jim Putnam's playlist will have numerous videos for whatever zone you are in and what you are looking for whether it's sun/shade/part shade, colors, sizes, etc.
LINK

This guy, S&K Greenhouse, puts out great videos about different plant pairings, but make sure they are good for your zone as I believe he is located in 8a.

I'm not sure if they'll do plans only, but Smoketree did my entire landscape from removal to installation and it looks great. Probably pricier than others but I wanted what they were advertising and I've been happy.

Thanks for heads up but after calling, they don't offer design only services, just design/build.

I'll keep checking around

How big of a plan are we talking about? I do design work only.

Not big. My whole lot is 100' x 150' and I'm just looking to landscape the front at this time.

Do you provide drawings? Do you have a ballpark price or range for what this might cost?

I can provide a drawing and a cost estimate.

Do you have any existing plans for the house? Plot plan that at least shows dimensioned house layout and property lines?

I don't have any plot plans and looking at Google Earth won't help much either with the tree canopy. I have some other mature landscaping I'd like to keep and work around. Are you on the northshore? I think a site visit would be needed.
