Anyone have issues with kitec piping?

I currently have Servpro at my house attending to a major property loss due to this material. 1.5” of water across the first floor when we got home, drywall ceilings collapsed, etc.

I’ve read about the class action lawsuit and failure rates of this material. Home is 14 years old that I purchased in 2015. HO and flood insurance policies have been notified with claim numbers issued.

That’s terrible.I had one develop a pinhole leak in my attic at my old house and I caught it when I noticed about 2 foot diameter wet spot on drywall ceiling so no real damage done.I only had 1 water line in attic,it was a line from AC heat exchanger thing that was supposed to preheat water in my water heater.
I know several people that had water supply lines for their refrigerators burst and flood their houses.

FYI, this isn’t a flood issue

So one house floods and now there’s an issue with the entire company’s product? Every brand of plumbing materials has occasional failures, most times due to improper installation. It sucks for sure, but I’m not sure what you are searching for OP.

The fact that there was a class action lawsuit on said product that is no longer fabricated or installed anywhere, yes.

man that stinks.
homeowners will cover it but yes there was an issue with that product and it’s no longer widely used. I’d consider maybe removing it anywhere else, which will also stink

time to lean on one of your plumbers LOL

A guy named Tom Tynan was pushing Kitec on his radio program here in Houston. He was a custom home builder. We built our own house and I used Kitec. I feel like we are sitting on a ticking time bomb. 2 story home with 3 1/2 baths. I cringe thinking about re-piping our house.
