Palisades zoysia

Are you talking about that picture where they are saying it’s 50 year old grass? My Palisades Zoysia looks like the blade of centipede but stands up straight if you don’t cut it short. It has a wider blade than Empire or El Toro Zoysia. There is another kind of Zoysia the local turf farms grow around here that have more of a Bermuda look but I can’t recall the name.

I was thinking the same thing. That doesn't look like the Palisades I have at my house. Now the runners on my Palisades looks like common Bermuda until the blades spread open then it's more of a thinner centipede looking blade. I think Emerald and Zeon is thin blade Zoysia's.

The yard that both of y'all are referring to is mixed heavily with St. Aug. I don't think anyone would intentionally do that, which still makes me think it's a bermuda from the 1960s or 70s.

In other words, I highly doubt that the homeowners went out of their way to sod Zoysia. It just doesn't give that appearance.

That picture looked like Bermuda to me. My Palisades Zoysia looks totally different then that.

It was a guess based on the look. The above picture is palisades and they look similar to me.

The homeowner may not put it down (if it is zoysia). My parents have St Aug, centipede, and zoysia and have never once put a single piece of grass in in 37 years.

I’m sure it’s a Bermuda. He’s about a block from Goodwood on the right going north I guess he like wheel ruts Yeh that’s him. Had a guy stop buy Monday that lives on roseneath behind me. He has the same Bermuda as me. He remembers our house my dad gave him sprigs in the 70’s I pass by his house to check his yard often. I love passerby’s stopping to ask if my grass is real

Yeah, that’s the guy.
He’s been burning in those same exact wheel ruts for years
And every time he mows he cuts the green off.
Had to get that off my chest haha

Sooo, is it Tifway? Is it common? His is very uniform and extremely thick.

Was the whole neighborhood originally a type of Bermuda?

These stark color differences are pissing me off. It doesn’t look like this when it’s sunny. Mostly in the morning or after a rain.

Any ideas??

What is ROC?

Is there any chance that the dark green is rye from a sod farm overseed?
