As stated, I spot treated some areas in my yard with round up to knock out some Dallisgrass grass. It's been about a week and the area seems pretty damn dead. Do I need to pull all that up before putting seed or can I just mix the seed into some topsoil and just lay it over the dead weed.

Probably a really stupid question.

Did the product only contain Glyphosate?
Some brands have additional herbicides that remain in the soil for a while as a non selective preventative.

Unless its a tremendous amount, dig them up.

In my experience with dallisgrass, you can't kill it. What you see dead now, will always be dead, but more will be back next summer. Dallisgrass has a rhizome. If you don't get that up, next year it will push up new growth. A big rhizome is about half the length of your pinky.

Also, if seeds have been dumped in that area, put a pre-emerg down.

Why not just dig it up when it’s alive, to make sure you get it all the way up and out? Why the roundup if you are going to pull it up/dig it out anyway?

Not criticizing, just curious and trying to learn.
