As someone who spent almost 20 years in the concrete industry in one way or another - I’ll say this to the ones saying prices are too high or companies are leaving their profit margins high or whatever: do it yourself. Get your arse out in this heat and excavate, set forms, place steel, order the mud - place it and finish it. Then take down the forms and clean it up. Hopefully you have the knowledge, resources, tools, equipment, and stamina available to pour concrete and do it correctly.

I've been a part of just enough pours that I know those baws earn their money. Some of the hardest work I've ever done...probably because we were undermanned but nevertheless.

Still can remember what it feel like to listen for the roar of the churning rocks and the rumble of an approaching Mack truck to know shite is about to get real. Talk about making your pulse quicken up.
