Is the generic version of Certainty, Sertay, just as good?

Looking to kill some grassy weeds in my new Bermuda sod. Have had for 2 weeks and it's green and growing thanks to all the rain, but so are the weeds, which seem to be mostly grassy weeds.
Iis Sertay, the generic of Certainty, just as effective on weeds?
When should I apply to new sod? If at all during the first growing season?

Well they are both 75% Sulfosulfuron I guess the other 25% is what would matter. Sertay is on sale at Do My Own for half the price of Certainty.

Would it be safe to use on 2 week old Bermuda sod?

How soon after it's rooted and cut several times would it be safe to do?

Theoretically, you’d be fine spraying after it’s fully rooted. It’s hard to know exactly when that happens, probably about a month if you’ve been keeping to the watering schedule.

Gotcha. I had sod pieces rooting down (not fully) by day 3-4 after being laid. I did utilize 13-13-13, hydretain, and some granular soil compost / biochar and have watered the hell out of it the past week. I really think it could be ready to mow in the next 2 weeks or sooner, but was wondering about how or if to treat the weeds as well.
Appreciate the help!
