Is discussion of backyard lights a home and garden board or tech board topic?

Would like to see what some of you all have done, types of products, solar, or non-solar, etc.

I have some cheap solar spike LEDs. When they wear out after a couple years I replace them

I bought Amazon string lights. About 250 feet worth going across sections of my backyard. It looks okay. Just enough to go through all the trees and give a neat atmosphere when hanging out with family and friends in the backyard. I'll likely take them down before winter and make them look more organized. Replaced original bulbs with LEDs that aren't incredible bright and look the same. Keep them on an Amazon timer switch.

Whatever you do don't get the bright white office looking fluorescent type light. They're annoying as hell. Stick with the warm glow.

I have a mixed bag of different brands of low voltage lights that I randomly picked up from Dirt Cheap. When they are returned the connector is usually bad, I just cut them off and direct wire with waterproof connectors. I have a transformer that has a timer/photo cell option with 2 can lights in the ground under our Natchez Crepe Myrtle's (looks awesome at night), a pathway light, and a lantern looking light so far. Nice effect at night, too hot to enjoy. I get all the junk like 90% off so I have no money in it. Right now the most expensive part is the wire, I ordered it off Amazon.

Most of my backyard lighting consists of string lights that span from under my covered patio area and then crisscrossing the pool. All the bulbs are LED and not a single one has gone out in a year and a half (which means one will be out when I get home tonight).

You can see a few solar landscape lights in the flower beds. Initially, they were very good. Now they suck. A project for when it cools off is to install wired landscape lighting. I have 2 large palm trees that I'm basically standing next to for this pic that I'd like to light up as well.
