$100k for the size and limits you describe sounds absurdly high. A lot of costs comes with decking plus another $8-10k for spa.
I know prices have shot up since Covid year, but I had 15k gallon pool + spa built at previous house in 2019 with ton of surrounding travertine decking for $70k total.
$100k sounds out of control.
Do you have clear and easy access to the back for bobcat and excavator etc?

Assuming that quote is gunite. Have you looked at a fiberglass drop in? Have a buddy with a full size fiberglass pool and it seems like a decent option. Never owned one though.

Plunge pools are all over in Florida. If you want it, do it, just make sure to heat and cool it, and add some cool lighting. and some type of water feature. My pool is pretty big, and I use about 100 square feet of it to cool off and drift around on a float sometimes. 100k seems pretty damn high though, unless you are having quite a bit of stone work and othe stuff.

quote:For pool owners, is this true for you. People say it very often, yet when I put in a pool my agent only increased my coverage by cost of pool, so it was very very little.

Does that possible pool addition raise your property taxes
It almost certainly raises your insurance rates, too.

Cost of the pool added to my total coverage. It was maybe $40/year difference in my case.

Anyone else with a small pool find it worth the cost?
Yes, but only if you want it as others have said. I absolutely love mine once the temps rise up into the triple digits as it is a perfect way for me and the wife to end the day soaking up sun and listening to some yacht rock with an adult beverage.
Tips: set up some sort of sprinkler system since it will drop pool temps about 10 degrees during the high heat and set up some of area to place your phone/drinks/speaker that is protected from the sun.

I did some work on a house in the Faubourg/Marigny area on N.O. about 25 years ago and he installed a lap pool in his yard. It was a camelback shotgun on a fairly narrow lot with a driveway off to one side and he shortened his driveway to put in the lap pool.
Damn thing was no more than 5 ft. wide and about 25 ft long. Seemed like a total waste of time and money for something that small.
I think I'd pass on that for what it's going to cost you. That's how big my kitchen is in my house------------no thanks.
