What is a realistic expectation on fuel consumption?

I have a 7kw portable I use to run everything but HVAC, but I’d love something to power just the portable ac and fridge at night but get max fuel efficiency.

I don’t run enough on the 7kw at night to justify using it efficiently.

Portable is about 1k watts, so I was thinking about a 22-2500 watt inverter.

TIA

I run the WEN 6250/5000 inverter backfeeding my whole house. This is running everything except central air, but I keep a window unit in my bedroom. I typically burn 4/gallons every 12 hours. During the day with multiple AC's running it'll go up to 5 gallons in 12 hours.

It will use about a third of the fuel the 7kw uses.

Thanks for the replies!

Got the feeling we’re in for a doozy this cane season based on some of the storms we’ve had so far. I’d love to get 4hrs a gallon. I think I’m at 2hrs a gallon with mine.

I've noticed that LED light bulbs make a big difference since often I've used mine working on a cabin and usually had a lot of lights on. I can watch the drop of 60w or so on the gen meter with every incandescent I replace.

you're thinking wrong.

You already got the 1k that can run maybe a fridge and a fan during day.

You need to them bump up to a 4500 inverter size so you can then run a window unit and any and all lights and freezers needed.

2500 size barely gives you a difference of the 1k. It ain't enough to do a fridge, freezer, and window unit.

I have this big thing and it runs my 4 ton AC with a soft start installed with no sweat

even converted it from dual fuel to tri fuel to run natural gas, and with natural gas it still runs my AC unit

fyi if you want to convert it to run natural gas, the carburetor already has the fitting on it for propane, i just re-routed the 3/8" piping through a Y valve where 1 side of the Y goes to propane and the other side goes to the natural gas regulator

HOWEVER! If I would be buying today I would get the already tri fuel capable Genmax GM11000iET.
