Fight on, want it dead. Give me a brand name, please! Its rearing its head and I need to kill it before it starts making those foot killing spurs.

I've hand pulled it, hit it with atrazine, 2,4-D, round up, Scotts Bonus S...it just giggles and keeps growing.

Please, for the love of spring bare feet, help. Centipede in the yard...if it dies, it dies. I can walk on dirt, but not these spurs. Im not opposed to a flame thrower.

Get a good pre emergent for next year. I used prodiamine this year and for the first time I haven't seen any of it sprouting up.

I've had good luck with MSM turf in the past.

You need to be looking for the small, immature burweed plants now & Feb, maybe March, and spray them with a post-emergent herbicide as they appear - before they mature and develop “stickers” (seeds). They look like little parsley plants. LINK.

Personally, I like to use Fertilome Weed Free Zone, in colder weather - mixture of 4 herbicides, and includes 2, 4 D - it’s basically a Trimec herbicide + 1 (carfentrazone).

As stated, start using a pre-emergent herbicide in the fall, recommendations in the attached article. You sound committed - you can do this.

I like to use Celsius HG and Certainty together. Sometimes I use Celsius HG and SedgeHammer. Seems to kill all the weeds in my yard. I just wait until it’s warm in the afternoon and spray it on the yard if I need to kill weeds this time of the year.

I’m about to put out pre emergent again. I’m either going to use liquid or granules. Everyone will tell you it’s too early for that but I don’t care. I live south of I-10 and my yard finally went dormant last week. Prior to last week I was still mowing every other week. I’ve noticed I’ve got some breakthrough with weeds. Not a lot but some. I’ll put more pre emergent out probably in early March. Generally I alternate between liquid and granules and as far as I’m concerned you are never to early or late to put that stuff out.

hit it with atrazine,

I'm surprised this hasn't worked for you. Usually when I spray burweed with atrazine it smokes it even when used by itself. Combined with Weed Free Zone ("Winter Weed Cocktail") it doesn't stand a chance.
