Here’s a pro tip, there’s nothing easy about masonry work. It all kicks your arse. No tool even a hammer drill or freaking jackhammer is easy to use physically. If you honestly only have 8-10ft a sledge and maybe a chisel is your best bet imo.

ETA: I mean dang man you hit each brick once or twice with a sledge and you are done. Will be way faster then a hammer drill.

Then you need to go rent a gas powered saw, that’s your easiest work also. Cut it off smooth then cut into pieces. Still may need the sledge to break some stuff up.

Call around to rental stores. Those gas saws aren’t super cheap to rent fwiw they usually make you buy a blade also.

Then your only answer is a hammer and chisel. Diamond blade on saw or 4.5 angle grinder for final clean up of mortar......

On second thought, based on your posts in here, you'd better just hire a Mexican.

Have you thought about getting in touch with the military? Maybe they have a high powered laser that could get the job done

Or I could rent a machine that will do the work for me.

I don’t think machine is the proper nomenclature. They prefer to be called Mexicans

This guy is afraid to do a little work and get his hands dirty, and you want him operating one of those?

get a large grinder and cut vertically where you need and then horizontal where you need as deep as you can. Hit each brick after with sledge and knock it off.

after put a cup blade on the grinder and get everything smooth.

wear a respirator.
