I am Completely confused by my new pool pump instructions

Have a 14’ above ground pool on my patio for last couple months. The pump it came with is incredibly underpowered

Bought a new one online for pools smaller above ground pools (mine is 2200 gallons). .75hp. 13” 115v

The entire systems instruction manual literally says “above ground”


The pump owners manual, from the same plastic sleeve says “this pump is intended for use on permanently installed pools. A permanently installed pool cannot be readily diaassbled and reassembled….”



The old pump has i think a 25 foot cord with a GFCI plug so its able to reach my outside wall outlet


This new pumps cord is literally 5 feet long


The instruction manual says use a 18 UWG extension cord, which seems like the wrong number. Should probably be 12?


But everything ive ever read says to never use extension cords for a pool, its why I didnt put it in my yard
And the pump label itself says dont use one

But also says keep 10 feet away from the inside pool wall, and of course for permanent pools
How can i put a pump 10 feet from pool with hoses that are only a couple of feet long, while not using extension cords on a pump with a 5 foot cord?

Am I a moron completely missing something obvious??
